Active Pedals Compared: Simucube ActivePedal vs MOZA mBooster vs Simagic P-Active
The French Simracer recommendation in 30 seconds
For a first active brake at a controlled budget, the MOZA mBooster (€799.90) is the cheapest entry point, and the set with CRP2 throttle costs €999.90. If you already own a Simagic P1000 or P2000, the Simagic P-Active (€1,199.90) bolts onto your current pedal set. The Simucube ActivePedal Pro + Link (€1,776.80) is the reference for most serious drivers, and the ActivePedal Ultimate (€2,399.90, Link Hub included) is for inverted pedal decks, formula seating positions and fully active three-pedal sets. The ActivePedal Sport (€1,079.90 incl. VAT) arrives in early 2027.
Method: specifications come from the official product pages, support articles and manuals of Simucube, MOZA Racing and Simagic. Prices are The French Simracer store prices incl. Why choose an active pedal?
A load cell or hydraulic brake measures how hard you press against a stack of springs, elastomers or a piston. Its feel is set by that hardware: changing it means swapping elastomers or preload, and it slowly drifts as rubber parts age. An active pedal replaces that stack with a motor. The motor creates the resistance, so the force curve, the travel, the friction and the damping are set in software, per car.
In practice, that gives you three things a passive pedal cannot. You can switch from a long, soft road-car brake to a short, hard GT3 or formula brake in seconds. The pedal stays the same from the first lap to the two-thousandth, which helps you find a repeatable braking point and work on trail braking. And the game can push back through the pedal: ABS pulses, a wheel locking, the engine revving. A vibration motor bolted to a passive pedal only adds a buzz next to the braking; an active pedal changes the force under your foot.
The trade-off is price, power and mounting. Each pedal needs a power supply, a PC, and a pedal deck rigid enough to take a motor pushing back.
The five pedals compared
Simucube ActivePedal Ultimate: Simucube's flagship. Up to 170 kg in high force mode (62 mm of travel) or 120 kg in medium force mode (79 mm). It is the only one here with an adjustable arm, a 25 mm offset adjustment and inverted mounting. Additional Ultimate pedals (Add-on) share the power supply of the first one. 5-year warranty.
Simucube ActivePedal Pro: the same software and effects at a lower price. Up to 110 kg and 74 mm of travel, fixed arm, standard (floor) mounting only, one power supply per pedal. The first ActivePedal needs a Simucube Link Hub, which is why we also sell the ActivePedal Pro + Link. 3-year warranty.
Simucube ActivePedal Sport: Simucube's new compact pedal, announced for early 2027, €1,079.90 incl. VAT at The French Simracer. Up to 100 kg and 60 mm of travel, 250 mm long and 3.4 kg, 168 mm shorter than the Pro. It uses the Simucube Link platform (Link Hub required, not in the box), its own 280 W power supply, and does not support daisy chain power. 36-month warranty.
MOZA mBooster: MOZA's active pedal, driven by a servo motor and a ball screw, with two 200 kg load cells, a 15-bit angle sensor and a 21-bit magnetic encoder. It plugs into a MOZA wheelbase's pedal port or straight into the PC over USB, and mounts on the CRP2 base plate or the mBooster Base Plate.
Simagic P-Active: Simagic's first active pedal, shipping from 18 November 2026. Dual-bridge 250 kg pressure sensor, 180 kg software limit, 16-bit resolution. Adapters for the P1000 and P2000 base plates are in the box, so it is the most direct upgrade for a Simagic pedal set. Several P-Active pedals share a single USB cable, linked over RJ45 (CAN FD).

Force figures: how to read them
The headline kilograms are not measured the same way by each brand, so do not rank the pedals on that number alone.
- Simucube gives a maximum pedal force (170, 110 and 100 kg). On the Ultimate, the medium force mode trades force for travel: 120 kg over 79 mm instead of 170 kg over 62 mm.
- MOZA lists a 0–200 kg pressure sensor range for the mBooster, with two 200 kg load cells. It does not publish a separate figure for the force the motor itself can produce.
- Simagic separates the 250 kg capacity of the P-Active sensor from the 180 kg the software can read.
You will rarely race at the maximum: past a point, a harder brake only tires your leg and makes modulation harder. What changes from one pedal to another is how precisely you can hold 60–80% of your maximum through the corner entry, how quickly the pedal reacts, and how much travel you have to work with. Pedal travel also matters for throttle and clutch use: the Ultimate in medium force mode (79 mm) and the Pro (74 mm) offer the longest strokes.
Effects, software and games
| Pedal | Telemetry effects listed by the manufacturer | Roles |
|---|---|---|
| ActivePedal Ultimate / Pro | ABS, traction control, RPM vibration, G-force effects; profiles from professional drivers and automatic profile switching | Brake, throttle or clutch |
| ActivePedal Sport | Motor (RPM) vibration, ABS, traction control, G-force, brake threshold vibration, clutch bite point, brake lock-up | Brake, throttle or clutch |
| MOZA mBooster | ABS lock-up, traction control, engine vibration, G-force, gear shifts, road surface; supported titles include AC, ACC, F1, iRacing and rFactor 2 | Brake, throttle or clutch |
| Simagic P-Active | ABS, wheel lock, wheel spin, gear shift, engine RPM, across around 20 supported titles | Brake, throttle or clutch |
All three programs let you draw the force curve and set travel, preload, damping and friction. Simucube has released more than 33 versions of Simucube Tuner for the ActivePedal, with around 50 adjustable parameters and profiles from professional drivers. SimPro Manager offers four base curves plus a custom curve with 8 control points, compression and rebound damping and soft, standard or firm end stops. Pit House sets starting and ending force, travel and curve, and has an official mBooster preset.
Staying in one ecosystem saves cables and software. A single Simucube Link Hub runs ActivePedals and a Simucube 3 wheelbase together; the mBooster plugs into a MOZA base's pedal port; the P-Active can connect through a Simagic wheelbase. You can mix brands, but you will run two programs side by side.
Mounting, cockpit and power
Rigidity first. An active pedal pushes back and can move suddenly. Mount it on an aluminium profile cockpit or a rigid steel pedal deck that does not flex at full braking. If your pedal plate bends today with a load cell brake, fix that before adding a motor.
Footprint. The ActivePedal Pro is 418 mm long and the Ultimate 400 mm. The P-Active is 335.9 mm long and 87 mm wide. The ActivePedal Sport, at 250 mm, is the easiest to fit in a compact cockpit. On a MOZA CRP2 base plate, MOZA recommends the mBooster Base Extension Plate because the mBooster is longer than the CRP2 holes.
Inverted pedals. If your rig has hanging pedals, the ActivePedal Ultimate is the Simucube pedal listed for inverted mounting (the Pro is standard mounting only); the mBooster needs MOZA's inversion kit (sold separately). The P-Active is not compatible with the inverted P1000i and P1000i-RS.
Power and cables. Plan a power strip under the rig: the Pro, the Sport and the P-Active each need their own power supply. ActivePedal Ultimate Add-on units share the first Ultimate's supply through the daisy chain cable. With two ActivePedal Pros or more, add an Ethernet switch (Teltonika, €59.90). With Simagic, only one P-Active needs a USB cable; the others are linked over RJ45.
Mixing with passive pedals. Simucube ActivePedals accept two passive load cell pedals, and Heusinkveld Sprint or Ultimate+ throttles and clutches can be tuned in Simucube Tuner with the ActivePedal Connector for Heusinkveld (€15.90). Our verdict
Best overall: the Simucube ActivePedal Pro. It has the best-documented software and effects, enough force and travel for virtually every car, and it grows into a full Simucube rig through the same Link Hub.
No compromise: the ActivePedal Ultimate, if you need an inverted deck, a formula seating position or several active pedals on one power supply. For an upright GT position with one active brake, the Pro is enough.
Best value: the MOZA mBooster, which brings active braking at under €1,000 for a complete set. Check that your pedal deck is rigid and that your games are supported for telemetry in Pit House.
Best upgrade for Simagic owners: the P-Active, which keeps your P1000 or P2000 throttle and clutch and plugs into SimPro Manager. Independent long-term feedback is still limited, since shipping only starts on 18 November 2026.
Worth waiting for: the ActivePedal Sport, if you run a Simucube 3 or have a short cockpit and can wait until early 2027.
Warranty and after-sales service
Manufacturer warranties differ a lot: 5 years on the ActivePedal Ultimate, 3 years on the Pro, 36 months on the Sport, 24 months on the Simagic P-Active, and up to 24 months on the main body of MOZA products. An active pedal is a motor, electronics and a power supply, so the quality of the after-sales service counts as much as the spec sheet.
For a pedal bought from The French Simracer, we handle after-sales service, with a contact based in France. Contact us first with your order number: we help with the diagnosis (firmware, calibration, power supply, wiring) and handle the warranty process with the manufacturer. You benefit from the 2-year legal warranty, or the manufacturer's warranty if it is longer.

Frequently asked questions
What is an active pedal?
An active pedal uses a motor to create the resistance you push against. Force, travel and curve are set in software instead of springs or elastomers, and the pedal can play effects from the game, such as ABS pulses or a lock-up, through your foot.
Which active pedal has the most force?
On paper, the MOZA mBooster lists a 0–200 kg pressure sensor range and the Simagic P-Active a 180 kg software limit. Among the Simucube pedals, the ActivePedal Ultimate goes up to 170 kg, the Pro to 110 kg and the Sport to 100 kg. These figures are not measured the same way by each brand, so compare them as orders of magnitude, not as a ranking.
Do these pedals work on PlayStation or Xbox?
No. All five are PC pedals, configured in Simucube Tuner, MOZA Pit House or SimPro Manager.
Do I need a Simucube wheelbase to use an ActivePedal?
No. The ActivePedal connects to the PC through a Simucube Link Hub. If you already run a Link Hub with a Simucube 3 or another ActivePedal, one hub per rig is enough.
Can I keep my current throttle and clutch?
Yes in most cases. The Simucube pedals accept two passive load cell pedals, the mBooster works with the MOZA CRP2 throttle and clutch, and the P-Active mounts on a Simagic P1000 or P2000 set with the supplied adapters (not on the P1000i or P1000i-RS).
Do I need a stronger cockpit for an active pedal?
You need a pedal deck that does not flex. An active pedal pushes back, vibrates and can move suddenly, so a desk-type pedal plate or a thin wheel stand is not suitable. An aluminium profile cockpit or a rigid steel pedal deck is the right base.
How many power sockets do I need?
Plan one socket per pedal for the ActivePedal Pro, ActivePedal Sport and P-Active, each of which has its own power supply. ActivePedal Ultimate Add-on units share the power supply of the first Ultimate through the daisy chain cable. The mBooster runs on an external 48 V power supply.
Who handles after-sales service?
For pedals bought from The French Simracer, we handle after-sales service, with a contact based in France. You benefit from the 2-year legal warranty, or the manufacturer's warranty if it is longer: 5 years on the ActivePedal Ultimate, 3 years on the ActivePedal Pro, 36 months on the ActivePedal Sport.
