Setup 1 — Entry level: Oplite R8 Fury + Simagic GT Entry Bundle

This is the first configuration we would build for a PC newcomer who wants a real cockpit, Direct Drive FFB and a coherent brake pedal without replacing half the rig after a few months. The Oplite price includes the cockpit and seat, while the Simagic bundle supplies the base, wheel and pedals.

The 9 Nm Alpha EVO Sport provides enough torque headroom to learn clipping control and feel tyre load in GT3, prototypes and Formula cars. The GT Neo covers iRacing, Le Mans Ultimate and Assetto Corsa Competizione particularly well. Rally or drift drivers can later add a round wheel without changing the base.

Console pack — Oplite R8 Fury + Fanatec ClubSport DD+ GT3

Total: €1,979.60

This console configuration combines the R8 Fury cockpit and seat with the ClubSport DD+ 18 Nm, CSL Steering Wheel GT3 and ClubSport Pedals V3. It creates a coherent PlayStation setup for Gran Turismo 7 and console versions of Assetto Corsa Competizione, while remaining usable on PC.

The product page lists native PC, PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4 compatibility. Xbox support depends on an Xbox-licensed steering wheel; do not assume Xbox compatibility from the base alone. Both selected products were available during the price check.

Setup 2 — Progression: Sim-Lab GT1 Pro + Simagic Alpha EVO 12 Nm

Total: €2,677.01

This tier invests first in an aluminium-profile cockpit, seat adjustment and a single-monitor mount. The 12 Nm Alpha EVO adds torque headroom while the P1000-F moves braking consistency up a level. It is the balanced “keep it for years” build for regular iRacing, LMU or ACC use.

The exact chassis variant supplied by Jean-Marie was priced at €1,309.60 but was not available for sale during the API check. The Simagic bundle variant was available. Treat the total as the verified configuration price and confirm the cockpit option before ordering.

Upgrade path: add haptic feedback to the P1000, move to an Alpha EVO Pro or Ultra later, or switch between GT Neo and a round Neo X without replacing the cockpit.

Setup 3 — Performance: P1X Pro with MOZA or Simagic

The P1X Pro tier supports a much stronger brake and 25–28 Nm bases without making the chassis the weak link. We use the same €1,579.60 chassis configuration for both options: Front Mount, Speed 1 Black L seat with mounting and sliders, plus an Integrated Vario Single monitor mount. This exact selected variant was unavailable during the check.

Option A — MOZA R25 Ultra + KS Pro + mBooster

This is the technology-focused choice: high torque, a 300 mm GT wheel with display and an active brake paired with a CRP2 throttle. Dynamic brake profiles and haptic effects can be valuable for ABS, wheel lock and car-to-car profile changes when configured correctly.

Option B — Simagic Alpha EVO Ultra + Zeus Formula + MagicDash + P2000

This alternative prioritises 28 Nm torque headroom, a complete wireless Formula interface and hydraulic braking. It is suited to high-downforce prototypes and Formula cars in LMU or iRacing, while the P2000 provides a mechanical-hydraulic character rather than a software-defined active pedal.

Choose MOZA for an active-pedal ecosystem and a lower total. Choose Simagic for the 28 Nm Alpha EVO Ultra, the Zeus/MagicDash wireless package and P2000 hydraulic feel.

Setup 4 — GOAT: P1X Ultimate + Simucube 3 Pro + ActivePedals Pro

Total: €7,183.42

This is the reference configuration when the goal is not value but maximum adjustability and integration. Simucube 3 Pro and Delta Pro SC form a native Link ecosystem, while ActivePedal Pro can change force, travel, damping and dynamic effects through software. The P1X Ultimate provides the rigid structure this equipment deserves.

The selected Simucube and pedal bundle variants were available during the check. The exact P1X Ultimate seat/monitor configuration was not. The total is therefore a verified component sum, not a stock promise.

How to allocate a Sim Racing budget

1. Cockpit rigidity protects every later upgrade

Flex in the wheel mount and pedal deck removes detail before it reaches your hands or feet. A stronger base does not compensate for a moving chassis.

2. Braking consistency usually improves lap time before extra torque

A Load Cell, hydraulic brake or active pedal helps repeat pressure and release. Above the entry tier, pedal choice should be made with the cockpit’s rigidity and mounting plate in mind.

3. Torque headroom is useful only when clipping is controlled

9–12 Nm is already enough for a convincing first setup. Moving to 25–28 Nm gives more reserve for peaks and high-downforce cars, but it also increases mounting, safety and tuning requirements.

4. Choose the wheel around the discipline

GT Neo, KS Pro, Zeus Formula and Delta Pro SC all target different budgets and levels of integration. For rally or drift, budget for a round wheel; for Formula and prototypes, prioritise thumb controls, rotaries, paddles and readable telemetry.

5. Do not forget the excluded costs

A PC, monitor or VR headset, audio, keyboard tray, shipping and optional accessories can materially change the final project cost. The totals above intentionally compare the core driving setup only.
