Sim-Lab GT1 Pro vs GT1 Evo: Which Cockpit Should You Buy?
The answer in 30 seconds
Choose the Sim-Lab GT1 Evo if you want the best-value route into a rigid aluminium-profile cockpit and can accept a conventional wheel deck. Choose the GT1 Pro if you run a stronger Direct Drive wheel base, want a more integrated one-piece wheel mount and value cleaner accessory installation. At the prices checked on 30 July 2026, the frame-only starting points are €379.90 and €649.90: a €270 difference that should buy a real need, not just a newer shape.
A buying guide, not a TFS track test
This comparison is based on the current Sim-Lab specifications and the active TFS configurations, prices and compatibility lists. It does not present hands-on impressions as a TFS test. The useful question is not whether the Pro is “better” in isolation, but whether its mounting system and structure solve a problem in your actual setup.

GT1 Pro vs GT1 Evo: the differences that matter
| Point | GT1 Evo | GT1 Pro |
|---|---|---|
| Starting price checked | €379.90 | €649.90 |
| Core structure | Black-anodised 40×80 mm extrusion | Reworked profile connections and integrated design |
| Wheel mounting | Adjustable universal wheel deck | One-piece aluminium mount plus front brackets |
| Published footprint | 1,280 × 580 × 900 mm on the TFS listing | 1,350 × 580 mm; 680 mm at the widest point |
| Best fit | Value-focused static cockpit | Higher-torque and accessory-heavy build |
Both accept mainstream Fanatec, MOZA, Simagic, Logitech, Thrustmaster and Asetek hardware, plus many Load Cell pedal sets. Exact drilling and the correct mount still need checking for your wheel base and pedal version; “universal” does not mean every future product fits without an adapter.
Does the GT1 Pro make more sense for Direct Drive?
The GT1 Evo is already an aluminium-profile cockpit. For a moderate Direct Drive wheel base and a properly mounted Load Cell brake, it is a major step above a folding or tubular entry-level rig. The GT1 Pro’s case becomes stronger when wheel-deck flex, upright movement or accessory leverage would otherwise become the next limitation.
Its one-piece aluminium wheel mount and revised connections are designed to keep stronger feedback loads controlled. That does not automatically produce faster lap times, but a stable wheel and pedal relationship makes braking and steering inputs more repeatable. If your planned wheel base is in the higher-torque class, the extra €270 is easier to justify than it is for a 5–8 Nm setup.
Pedals, seat and monitor mounts: budget beyond the frame
Neither starting price represents a complete cockpit. A seat, brackets or sliders and a monitor solution can materially change the final invoice. TFS variants show both platforms with seat and integrated Vario single- or triple-monitor options, but availability differs by configuration.
- Seat: check whether side brackets and sliders are included in the selected variant.
- Pedals: very stiff brakes require both a rigid deck and a suitable driving position.
- Monitor: an integrated mount saves floor space but transmits more cockpit movement than a freestanding stand.
- Accessories: both include a side-mounting solution, while the Pro is the cleaner base for a more complex shifter and handbrake layout.
Which Sim-Lab cockpit should you choose?
Choose GT1 Evo if…
- budget discipline matters most;
- you use a moderate Direct Drive system;
- you want an adaptable 40×80 cockpit;
- you prefer to spend the difference on a seat or pedals.
Choose GT1 Pro if…
- you are building around higher torque;
- you want the integrated one-piece wheel mount;
- your cockpit will carry more accessories;
- you want more headroom before a future upgrade.
The Evo is the rational value choice. The Pro is the safer long-term choice when you already know the cockpit will host stronger hardware. Buying the Pro “just in case” makes less sense if that €270 prevents you from choosing the correct seat or pedal position.
Frequently asked questions
Is the GT1 Evo rigid enough for Direct Drive?
Yes for many setups, provided the wheel base and pedals are installed correctly. The GT1 Pro provides more structural and mounting headroom for stronger systems.
Do these prices include a seat?
No. The quoted €379.90 and €649.90 values are the checked starting configurations. Select the exact seat, brackets, sliders and monitor option before comparing final totals.
Can both cockpits use triple monitors?
Yes, compatible integrated Vario options are listed, but a freestanding monitor stand can isolate screens from cockpit vibration and simplifies later motion upgrades.
