The French Simracer verdict in 30 seconds

The Qubic System QS-H13 is a compact 2DOF seat mover for simracers who want fast pitch, roll and haptic cues without moving the wheel, pedals or screens. This seat-only approach can make braking and chassis balance feel unusually clear, but it is not a substitute for heave, traction loss or the spectacle of full-rig motion. At €3,799.90 on TFS when checked on 30 July 2026, it makes sense primarily for a rigid, mature cockpit where information, low latency and compactness matter more than movement amplitude.

Evidence scope: TFS has not presented this as an in-house test. Technical facts come from Qubic System and the current TFS listing. Driving observations are attributed to Dan Suzuki, who used a loan unit for months in his daily motion setup and states that Qubic had no editorial input.

What is the Qubic System QS-H13 seat mover?

The QS-H13 moves the seat independently from the rest of the cockpit. Its two degrees of freedom are pitch, for fore-aft tilt, and roll, for lateral tilt. The steering wheel, pedals and displays remain fixed.

This is fundamentally different from a platform that lifts or rotates the entire rig. It cannot create true sustained G-force, vertical heave or rear traction-loss movement. Instead, it uses short, coordinated changes in the position of your body to suggest braking, acceleration, cornering, elevation changes and chassis rotation.

Why can moving only the seat feel more realistic?

A seat mover sounds mechanically less realistic because a real car does not move the driver independently from the controls. Motion simulation, however, relies on cueing the body rather than recreating every force literally.

Dan Suzuki’s central observation is that fixed controls create strong relative movement: your torso moves against the steering wheel and pedals. Forward pitch makes braking load more obvious through the upper body, while roll can help communicate rotation and mid-corner balance through the hips. He stresses that this preference remains subjective and recommends trying different motion architectures whenever possible.

The small movement at the legs did not harm his braking consistency. That is an attributed hands-on finding, not a universal promise: seating position, pedal geometry and motion profile can change the result.

Motion, integrated haptics and latency

The two main axes carry longer motion cues such as weight transfer and body attitude. Integrated high-frequency haptics add engine pulses, road texture, kerbs, bumps and gear shifts. Dan reports useful output up to roughly 100 Hz and values having both motion and haptics synchronized in Qubic Manager.

He also puts the haptics in perspective: they may replace a conventional bass-shaker setup for some users, but a dedicated high-end haptic system can still provide more depth and tuning range.

Qubic advertises approximately 10 ms from telemetry input to physical motion. Dan did not perceive delay in normal driving and found the response particularly convincing in VR. He did notice that extremely fast direction changes can approach the actuator speed limit and introduce a slight lag.

Installation, noise and daily use

Qubic specifies a stable aluminium-profile cockpit and includes universal mounting adapters. The 33 kg unit is manageable for a careful self-install, but the seat, rails, mounting points and 130 kg user-weight limit all need checking before purchase.

The design uses industrial electric actuators rather than the gearboxes and DC motors common in simpler seat movers. Qubic states less than 58 dB(A) under normal conditions. Dan found it quiet enough for late sessions near sleeping family members, while noting that aggressive haptic settings can still become audible.

Because the seat moves but the wheel, pedals and screens do not, cable routing is simpler than with a full moving cockpit. Harness routing is the awkward area. Dan considers the anchoring solution insufficiently thought through and says owners may need a custom approach. Any harness must be mounted so that the moving seat does not create unsafe or unintended loading.

Software: use Qubic Manager as the reference

Qubic Manager handles profiles, motion levels, pitch, roll, bumps, haptics, supported games and VR motion compensation. Dan praises its broad title support, active development and absence of a subscription. He also notes the lack of an interface to third-party motion software such as SimHub. Buyers should therefore plan around Qubic Manager rather than assume open control through another platform.

What does the independent review report on track?

Under braking, Dan reports an immediate forward cue that helps him judge threshold and trail braking. Rearward tilt supports acceleration, while roll cues help separate understeer, oversteer and general mid-corner balance. Kerbs and surface events arrive as shorter impulses through the haptic layer.

In his motion-on versus motion-off comparison, he was consistently slower without motion. He attributes this to earlier information about weight transfer and rotation, not to a magical performance gain. His equally important warning is that exaggerated, badly tuned motion can become distracting and make a driver slower.

For flight simulation, he found pitch useful for take-off and landing flare, roll convincing for banking and the haptics effective for turbulence. A 2DOF seat mover still cannot reproduce continuous forces or an aerobatic barrel roll literally.

Why pair the QS-H13 with the QS-BT1 belt tensioner?

The Qubic System QS-BT1 adds sustained pressure through the harness. The QS-H13 supplies the initial pitch and roll cue; the belt tensioner can maintain the sensation of braking, acceleration or cornering after the mover has begun to return toward centre.

Dan describes this as a particularly convincing pairing: the seat mover provides the hit, while the belt system sustains the pressure. Qubic supplies dedicated QS-BT1 mounting brackets on the QS-H13, but harness anchoring still deserves a proper installation plan.

QS-H13 or a full motion platform?

  • Choose the QS-H13 if space is limited, your screens and controls must stay fixed, and you value fast body cues over visible movement.
  • Choose a full 3DOF or 4DOF platform if heave, whole-rig attitude and broader chassis movement are central to the experience.
  • Add the QS-BT1 if sustained braking and harness pressure matter more than adding another motion axis.
  • Keep a static rig if consistency, simplicity and budget take priority, or if motion discomfort remains a concern.

Who is the Qubic System QS-H13 for?

The QS-H13 suits a simracer with a rigid aluminium cockpit, a settled wheel-and-pedal setup and enough budget to treat motion as the next layer of physical information. It is especially relevant for VR, compact rooms and users who do not want screens or heavy controls moving around them.

It is harder to justify for a first cockpit, for someone seeking large visible motion, or for a driver who mainly wants vertical bumps and heave. The 2DOF label may look modest, but the independent review suggests the product’s value lies in timing, low latency and how the cues reach the body—not in counting axes.
