Can a 2.99-inch dashboard show enough telemetry?

The CSD Nano uses a panoramic 2.99-inch LCD rather than trying to reproduce a large DDU at miniature scale. Its 800 × 268 resolution is designed around short, prioritised layouts. The product page lists more than ten native pages, while the SerialDriver test shows that gear, speed and timing remain legible from a normal cockpit position.

The important distinction is stability. A wheel-mounted display rotates and can sit lower in the field of view. The CSD Nano remains fixed above the shaft, so fewer pixels can still be easier to read. That is useful with open-top Formula and butterfly-style wheels, in GT driving positions, or as a secondary display beside a wheel that already carries telemetry.

Magnetic ARES integration or universal USB-C

On a CONSPIT ARES or ARES Platinum Direct Drive wheel base, the Nano attaches to the front magnetic interface. The pogo pins handle mounting and data, removing an exposed USB cable and separate control box. SerialDriver’s unit was recognised as soon as it was placed on the base.

For another wheelbase or a custom cockpit, the rear USB-C port provides the data connection. The current TFS listing includes a USB-C cable and an adhesive metal plate for magnetic placement. Because many bases and aluminium-profile cockpits are not magnetic, the plate—or another properly secured mounting solution—is essential. Its low mass makes positioning easy, but cable strain and sightline should still be checked.

CONSPIT Link 2.0, SimHub and custom media

CONSPIT Link 2.0 offers native pages that can be assigned to slots and switched from a mapped control. Brightness, metric or imperial units and display orientation can also be adjusted. SerialDriver highlighted the simple drag-and-drop workflow and layouts adapted by creators such as Lovely Dashboard and STS.

SimHub mode opens access to compatible community dashboards and custom layouts. The unusual 800 × 268 aspect ratio means a conventional 5-inch or 6.8-inch dashboard cannot simply be reused without adaptation. A third mode displays images or videos, but this custom-media mode does not provide live telemetry.

Readability in iRacing, LMU and rally

For iRacing and Le Mans Ultimate, a compact page can keep gear, delta, fuel and brake bias visible without obscuring the monitor. For rally, a simpler gear-and-speed layout may be more useful than a dense strategy page. These are use-case recommendations based on the display format; the video’s track segment demonstrates readability rather than a complete game-by-game compatibility test.

Who should choose the CONSPIT CSD Nano?

Choose it if you want essential telemetry in a fixed sightline, use an open wheel without a display, or need a compact secondary DDU. It is particularly coherent with an ARES Direct Drive wheel base, but USB-C prevents it from becoming an ecosystem-locked accessory.

Choose a larger dashboard if you need dense tyre, strategy and multi-page data visible simultaneously. The Nano wins through placement, simplicity and price—not through the quantity of information on one screen.
