The Conspit Ares Apex is the most compact base in the Ares series. It keeps the series' core technology – a skew-pole direct drive motor developed specifically for sim racing, asymmetric dual processors and Conspit Link 2.0 – in a 196 mm deep, 5.9 kg aluminium housing. With 8 Nm of torque and a 21-bit magnetic encoder, it is a direct drive base for drivers moving up from belt or gear wheels, or looking for a compact, quiet base on a desk or a cockpit.

Important notes

No steering wheel included. The CDR quick release wheel side is not included: the Conspit 310 Apex in CDR version comes with it; other Conspit wheels need the Conspit CDR Quick Release. A third-party USB wheel needs the Conspit USB-A Universal Adapter for the USB connection.

• Ares 12 Nm (CDR) + CSD Nano: 23-bit optical encoder, 9.5 Nm/ms, CDR quick release, CSD Nano display included.
• Ares 12 Nm (CDP): same 12 Nm base with the ball-lock CDP quick release, for wheels already fitted with CDP.
• Ares 20 Platinum (CDR) + CSD Nano: same technology, 20 Nm of torque reserve.

FAQ

Is 8 Nm enough for sim racing?

Yes, for most drivers. The Conspit Ares Apex delivers 8 Nm of constant torque, which covers GT, Formula, rally and drift. Many drivers run well below 8 Nm, especially on a desk. If you want extra reserve, the Ares 12 and Ares 20 Platinum share the same Conspit Link 2.0 software.

Is a steering wheel included with the Ares Apex?

No. The Conspit Ares Apex 8 Nm is sold without a wheel, and the CDR quick release wheel side is not included. The Conspit 310 Apex in CDR version comes with it. For a complete set, the Conspit Apex Bundle combines the base, the 310 Apex and the CPP Apex pedals.

Which wheels are compatible with the Conspit Ares Apex?

All Conspit wheels fit through the CDR quick release. Third-party wheels with a 50.8 or 70 mm hub fit mechanically with an adapter, and the Conspit USB-A Universal Adapter handles their USB connection. Contact us with your wheel model and we will confirm the right parts.

Which games work with the Ares Apex?

The Conspit Ares Apex works with PC sims that support force feedback wheels, including iRacing, Assetto Corsa Competizione, Assetto Corsa EVO, Le Mans Ultimate, rFactor 2, Automobilista 2, F1 and EA Sports WRC. Conspit Link 2.0 offers presets created with professional drivers.

How does the Ares Apex compare with other 8 to 9 Nm bases?

The Conspit Ares Apex sits in the same torque class as the Fanatec CSL DD (8 Nm with Boost Kit), the Moza R9 (9 Nm) and the Simagic Alpha EVO Sport (9 Nm). Its strengths are a skew-pole motor designed to reduce cogging, a CDR quick release compatible with NRG-style hubs, and a compact 196 mm housing. It is PC only.

Can I install the Ares Apex on a desk?

Yes. The Conspit Ares Apex Desk Mount, sold separately, clamps the base to a desk. On a cockpit, the base fixes from the bottom (4 × M6) or the sides (4 × M8), or with the Conspit front mount or aluminium profile bracket.

Does the Ares Apex work on PS5 or Xbox?

No. The Conspit Ares Apex works on PC Windows only, through USB and Conspit Link 2.0.

Who handles warranty and after-sales service?

The French Simracer handles after-sales service for the Conspit Ares Apex, as for every brand it sells, with a contact based in France. You never deal with the manufacturer directly. The product carries the 2-year legal warranty, or the manufacturer warranty if longer.
