Conspit Ares 12 Nm CDR + CSD Nano

The Conspit Ares 12 delivers 12 Nm through a skew-pole direct drive motor and a 23-bit optical encoder, in a compact 243 mm, 5.6 kg aluminium housing. Its CDR quick release gives a rigid, wear-free wheel connection, and this version ships with the CSD Nano telemetry display included: a 2.99-inch screen that clips magnetically onto the front of the base, with no cable to run. Setup through Conspit Link 2.0, on PC.

Key features

  • 12 Nm direct drive with skew-pole motor developed for sim racing, cogging torque under 2.3%
  • 23-bit optical encoder, angular resolution below 0.01°
  • Torque slew rate up to 9.5 Nm/ms for fine high-frequency detail
  • CDR quick release for fast, rigid wheel changes
  • CSD Nano telemetry display included, clipped magnetically on the front of the base

FAQ

Is 12 Nm enough?

Yes, for the vast majority of drivers. The Conspit Ares 12 CDR delivers 12 Nm through the same 23-bit optical encoder and skew-pole motor as the Ares 20 Platinum. Force feedback quality depends as much on encoder resolution and motor smoothness as on raw torque, and most drivers use high-end bases well below their maximum.

Is the CSD Nano display really included?

Yes. This version of the Conspit Ares 12 ships with the CSD Nano telemetry display, normally sold separately. It clips magnetically onto the front of the base with pogo-pin contacts, so there is no cable to route.

Is a steering wheel included?

No. The Conspit Ares 12 CDR is sold without a wheel. The CDR wheel side comes with the Conspit 310 Apex CDR; other Conspit wheels need the Conspit CDR Quick Release.

What is the difference between the Ares 12 CDR and the Ares 12 CDP?

Both use the same 12 Nm motor and 23-bit encoder. The CDR version uses Conspit's newer quick release, compatible with NRG-style hubs, is more compact (243 mm) and includes the CSD Nano. The CDP version uses the ball-lock CDP quick release for wheels already fitted with it.

How does the Ares 12 compare with other 12 Nm bases?

The Conspit Ares 12 CDR sits in the same class as the Moza R12 (12 Nm). Its distinguishing points are a 23-bit optical encoder rather than a magnetic one and a torque slew rate up to 9.5 Nm/ms. It is PC only.

Which games work with the Ares 12?

The Conspit Ares 12 CDR works with PC sims that support force feedback wheels, including iRacing, Assetto Corsa Competizione, Assetto Corsa EVO, Le Mans Ultimate, rFactor 2, Automobilista 2, F1 and EA Sports WRC.

Does the Ares 12 work on PS5 or Xbox?

No. The Conspit Ares 12 CDR works on PC Windows only.

Who handles warranty and after-sales service?

The French Simracer handles after-sales service for the Conspit Ares 12 CDR, as for every brand it sells, with a contact based in France. You never deal with the manufacturer directly. The product carries the 2-year legal warranty, or the manufacturer warranty if longer.
