Simagic TB-Neo

The Simagic TB-Neo is a modular sim racing handbrake built around a 100 kg pressure sensor and a 12-bit (4096-step) sensing circuit, on PC only. Its high-strength CNC aluminium alloy body accepts an upgrade path that the fixed-format handbrakes do not offer: vibration motors, hydraulic modules and replaceable rubber springs all bolt onto the same chassis. Travel, spring tension, linearity, force and dead zone are all adjustable, the lever converts between horizontal and vertical with five angle positions, and connection runs over USB-C to a PC or over CAN / CANFD to a Simagic wheelbase.

Main Features

  • Modular by design — one chassis, upgradeable with vibration motors, hydraulic modules and replaceable rubber springs
  • 100 kg pressure sensor — standard configuration, 12-bit resolution over 4096 steps
  • Full-range adaptive sensing — quadruple cascaded amplification circuit for fidelity on small inputs without clipping on large ones
  • Dual-mode, five angles — horizontal or vertical mounting, lever angle and height adjustable
  • Fully tunable response — travel, spring tension, force, linearity and dead zone
  • Elastomer tuning — four hardness levels supplied, four documented tuning schemes
  • Multiple interfaces — USB-C to PC or base CAN, RJ45 to Alpha EVO CANFD
  • Haptic-ready — optional P-HPR / P-HPR NEO / P-HPR GT vibration module

Elastomer Tuning

Resistance is set by the rubber springs loaded into the barrel, ranked from softest to hardest: yellow spring, green T-seal, green O-ring, black O-ring. Simagic documents four reference schemes: long travel with soft absorption, firm rebound with a short crisp bottom-out, a two-stage soft-then-firm curve, and a hydraulic-module setup that recreates a competition hydraulic handbrake. No more than eight rubber springs should be fitted inside the barrel.

SimPro Manager

SimPro Manager handles firmware updates, device information and connection mode, and gives access to custom response curves with four presets: Linear, Exponent, Logarithm and S-Curve, dead zone included. Calibration is required on first use and after every elastomer change, otherwise the handbrake may trigger too early or too late. With a vibration module installed, intensity, frequency and trigger range can be set for ABS, traction control, tyre slip, shifting and half-clutch engagement.

FAQ

What is the difference between the TB-Neo and a hydraulic handbrake?

The TB-Neo ships as a pressure-sensor handbrake with elastomer tuning, and can be converted later with a P-HYS or P-HYSi hydraulic module. A hydraulic handbrake such as the TB-RS is hydraulic out of the box, with no conversion step.

Can the TB-Neo be connected directly to a PC?

Yes. The USB-C interface connects straight to a PC. The same port also connects to the CAN interface of an Alpha series base, and the RJ45 port connects to the CANFD interface of an Alpha EVO series base.

Can it be mounted vertically?

Yes. The lever converts between horizontal and vertical with five angle positions. One restriction applies: with the P-HYS hydraulic module fitted, the handbrake must not be installed vertically. With the P-HYSi, the oil tank must be kept vertical to the ground.

Do I need to recalibrate after changing the elastomers?

Yes. Recalibrate in SimPro Manager after any elastomer change, otherwise the braking point will be triggered too early or too late.
