Conspit Ares 12 Nm CDP

This is the Conspit Ares 12 in its CDP quick release version, the ball-lock system machined from 7075 aluminium used by the first Conspit wheels. Inside: a skew-pole direct drive motor developed for sim racing, a 23-bit optical encoder, asymmetric dual processors and a torque slew rate up to 9.5 Nm/ms, in a 5.6 kg aluminium housing. Choose this version if your wheels are already fitted with the CDP system.

Key features

  • 12 Nm constant torque
  • 23-bit optical encoder, angular resolution below 0.01°
  • Custom dual skew-pole motor: low cogging, low noise
  • Torque slew rate up to 9.5 Nm/ms
  • Asymmetric dual processors, 170 MHz + 168 MHz
  • Industrial slip ring: maintenance-free wired signal, no wireless interference
  • Real-time temperature monitoring, safety mode for family use
  • Front pogo-pin interface for Conspit expansions
  • Force feedback developed with Open FFBoard, tuned with professional drivers

FAQ

Is 12 Nm enough?

Yes, for the vast majority of drivers. The Conspit Ares 12 CDP delivers 12 Nm through the same 23-bit optical encoder and skew-pole motor as the Ares 20 Platinum. Force feedback quality depends as much on encoder resolution and motor smoothness as on raw torque, and most drivers use high-end bases well below their maximum.

Is the CSD Nano display included?

No. The Conspit CSD Nano is sold separately for the Ares 12 CDP. It clips magnetically onto the front interface of the base with pogo-pin contacts.

Is the quick release included?

The CDP base side is fitted on the Conspit Ares 12 CDP. The CDP wheel side is sold separately as the Conspit Quick Release CDP. No steering wheel is included.

What is the difference between the Ares 12 CDR and the Ares 12 CDP?

Both use the same 12 Nm motor and 23-bit encoder. The CDR version uses Conspit's newer quick release, compatible with NRG-style hubs, is more compact (243 mm) and includes the CSD Nano. The CDP version uses the ball-lock CDP quick release for wheels already fitted with it.

How does the Ares 12 compare with other 12 Nm bases?

The Conspit Ares 12 CDP sits in the same class as the Moza R12 (12 Nm). Its distinguishing points are a 23-bit optical encoder rather than a magnetic one and a torque slew rate up to 9.5 Nm/ms. It is PC only.

Which games work with the Ares 12?

The Conspit Ares 12 CDP works with PC sims that support force feedback wheels, including iRacing, Assetto Corsa Competizione, Assetto Corsa EVO, Le Mans Ultimate, rFactor 2, Automobilista 2, F1 and EA Sports WRC.

Does the Ares 12 work on PS5 or Xbox?

No. The Conspit Ares 12 CDP works on PC Windows only.

Who handles warranty and after-sales service?

The French Simracer handles after-sales service for the Conspit Ares 12 CDP, as for every brand it sells, with a contact based in France. You never deal with the manufacturer directly. The product carries the 2-year legal warranty, or the manufacturer warranty if longer.
